Ramanathapuram: A free pediatric cardiac screening camp was organized by Kochi’s Amrita Hospital at the Amrita Vidyalayam campus in Ramanathapuram, Tamilnadu. More than 200 above children participated in the camp.
During the camp, children who were found to require heart surgery or other treatments were offered these services free of charge at Kochi’s Amrita Hospital, as announced by hospital officials. The camp was organized in collaboration with the Genesis Foundation and HDFC ERGO.
The camp was led by Dr Krishna Kumar Head of Department Pediatric Cardiology ,Amrita Hospital, Kochi along with Dr Brijesh P Kottayil, Dr Balaji Srimurugan, Dr Bala Ganesh and Dr Nishant.
This was the 10 th camp held in Tamil Nadu as part of a project to offer free heart surgeries to children from various states, coinciding with the 71st birthday of Mata Amritanandamayi. Similar camps had been previously organized in Virudhunagar, Nagercoil, and Tiruchirappalli.
