The Departments of Hematology, Pediatric CVTS, Pediatric Cardiology, and Medical Oncology, Amrita Hospital, Kochi, celebrated Children’s Day on November 14, 2022. Bri. Sai Bala, Nursing Director, Amrita Hospital, inaugurated the event along with Dr. K Pavithran, Head, Dept of Medical Oncology.
More than 50 children who underwent various treatments at Amrita Hospital attended the event along with their families. Dr. Rema G, Assistant Professor, Dept of Hematology, gave the welcome address.
Bag of Joy, a gift distribution program for children initiated by Hope Child Cancer Care Foundation, was also officially launched.
Dr. Neeraj Sidharthan, HOD, Dept of Clinical Hematology; Dr. Brijesh P Kottayil, Professor, CVTS Dept; Dr. Mansoor Koyakutty, Founder and President of Butterfly Cancer Care Foundation; and Asanul Banna T, Administrative Manager of Hope Child Cancer Care Foundation were also present on occasion. Vishnu K Santhosh, a research coordinator and social worker, gave the vote of thanks.
A painting competition for kids was organized as a part of cultural activities and the winners were given gifts sponsored by Amrita Heart Care Foundation, which was coordinated by Dr. Revathy Raju B.
Medical Social workers of the Department of Oncology —Swetha T and Nanda Sivakumar, coordinated the event jointly organized by Amrita Hospital, Amrita Heart Care Foundation, Hope Child Cancer Care Foundation, and Butterfly Cancer Care Foundation.
